Frontpage Interview’s guest today is Bill Warner, the director of the Center for the Study of Political Islam (CSPI) and spokesman for PoliticalIslam.com.
FP: Bill Warner, welcome to Frontpage Interview.
Warner: Jamie, thank you for inviting me.
FP: I would like to discuss the issue of dhimmis today. Let's begin like this: who are the dhimmis? And what different kinds are there?
Warner: Dhimmis begin with Mohammed. He was the world’s supreme master of making others submit to his will. Mohammed had the insight into the human psyche that all human beings have a genetic disposition to submit to the will of the group and higher ranked individuals.

In a recent article, the writer noted that the late medieval age Muslim historian Al-Maqrizi chronicled some of the Coptic culture traits in his famous book, Al-khitat (1), though he did not recognize them as such. It should be noted that Al-Maqrizi was not a Coptophile or a friend of the Copts by any extent of the imagination. It is perhaps fair to say that he was a product of his times.

A new chapter of the Coptic file shows the continued series of negative discrimination against Copts. The events of this series are about the attacks on our historic artifacts and monuments of the ancient Coptic nation. These artifacts and monuments are evidence of our civilization, and of our people’s contribution to the history of humanity throughout the centuries. Since the 4th Century, our monasteries have been leaders in the monastic way, and throughout different stages in history until the current time.

As I write these lines, it is already March 1st, 2008, the Calends of March. The primary elections to select the candidates, for the November US Presidential elections, have been ongoing for several months now, and pundits and self-proclaimed experts, Democrats, Republican, and Independents, have been proclaiming their favorite candidates rightfully or wrongly. We may even have some more candidates in the next few months. At any rate the democratic process is ongoing, and those of us who are already registered voters have cast our votes or will cast their votes depending on where they reside. The Coptic-American community is now a large diversified community, living all over the U.S., with large numbers in some key states. How about you? Did you register to vote? If so great, if not, you need to do so, the sooner the better. It is your civic duty and you owe it to this great nation, your community, your family and yourself.

A few weeks ago, articles published around the world reported that Hezbollah is undergoing two major changes. Both portend greater violence from the Iranian-sponsored global terrorist network.
The first change is a shift in leadership responsibilities. A report published initially in the Saudi owned Sharq al Awsat said the office of Ayatollah Khomenei appointed deputy secretary general Sheikh Naim Qassim as the new supreme commander of Hezbollah forces and the personal representative of the Ayatollah in Lebanon. Sheikh Hassan Nasrallah, according to this report remains as secretary general of the organization. Sources said this change in control and command is because of "differences in opinions" between Narsrallah and Qassim.
